BROOCH and EARRINGS, Reminiscent of the Royal Jewels of India. The brooch has a very high Oval shaped synthetic Jade stone set in a crown setting. Surrounding the stone are rings  of Gem Stone colored rhinestones in ruby Red and Clear, set in a shinny gold tone setting. 

Note: She dressed the stars of her generation.

Marked on an oval Hattie Carnegie. Earring marked on the clips.
Brooch measures  1-7/8" x 1-5/8". Earrings 1-1/8" x 1".

NECKLACE.  Dramatic design in simulated Opals and Citrine rhinestones. The large round cabochons have deep radiating heat. Opalescent beads are faceted. There is a hint of pale blue to the stones and beads.

Marked on an oval Hattie Carnegie and embossed in the metal gather.

Sapphire colored rhinestone eyes, red rhinestone cheeks, with a clear lucite body; dotted with clear embedded rhinestones. The fins have linear tracings of clear rhinestone, all set in a gold wash over sterling setting.

CORO DUETTE LOVE BIRDS IN A TREE FUR CLIPS DUETTE, c.1930s.  Lovely hand painted enamel birds facing each other on a branch. The enamel colors are Pale Blue, Dark Blue, Yellow Green, White, Black, and Dark Orange with clear pave' rhinestones accents.

Marked Coro on the backs of the birds.

TWO DUTCH PEOPLE FUR CLIPS,  c. 1940, Adolph Katz. Charming little Couple in Blue, Red, Yellow, and Flesh tone enamels, with pave' accents on silver tone metal. Featured in "American costume jewelry", pg. 56, by Carla and Roberto Brunialti.

Marked Coro on the inside seam of the boy's trousers only.
Measures 1-3/4" each.
Very Good Condition, with one tiny nick on the neck of the girl.

CHARLIE McCARTHY FUR CLIP, c. 1937. A bit of History to wear. Marvelous enamel Fur Clip depicting the famous TV, Film, and Movie ventriloquist Act of Edgar Bergen and his puppet Charlie McCarthy. The little tab on the bottom moves the mouth. I dare not do it.

Commissioned by Coro (Cohn & Rosenberger).
In a press clipping,  from WWD, Oct. 29, 1937, "My Diminutive Little Chum"  Enters Jewelry". Stamped on the back, "Mf' d under exclusive license from Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy Inc. 

The full story can be seen in the book "A Tribute to American", costume Jewelry 1935-1950,  by Carla Ginelli Brunialti and Roberto Brunialti, pg. 66.

Good condition.  The enamel, stones, and silver is in very good condition but there is gold loss on both pieces.

BROOCH, c.1962. Jewel Tone rhinestones of Emeral, Ruby, Topaz, openback, set in a heavy sivler tone setting. Dangling faux pearls are Creamy White and Pale Grey. Pearls are naturally dimpled.

WENDY GELL

BRACELET, c.2008. Wendy Gell's Arm Candy, The Wristy. From the mid-1970s Wendy has been creating these wonderful objects de Art. She says about her work, "I paint with jewels". Her jewelry has been  worn by many Hollywood Celebrities, featured in numbers of magazines and movies since her creative beginnings. Her process is, apoxying beads, rhinestones, stones, and found objects on a cut brass bracelet shape, each one as individual as she is.

Will fit up to a 6-1/2 wrist.
Front measures 2-1/2" in width. Back ends 1-3/4" and 2".
Excellent Condition. All of Wendy's bracelets have patina on the brass.

MIRIAM HASKELL BRACELET, c. Robert Clark era. Large Flower shaped Amber glass colored bead, mounted with and extra large jonquil colored rhinestone, set in a bent gilt metal filigree. Robert Clark bent and shaped stampings to create height and depth. Bead strands are light and dark Amber faceted crystals.

Marked with oval cartouche back of box clasp.
Measures 7-1/2" with the central design measuring 1-1/8" wide 7/8" high.

MIRIAM HASKELL BROOCH, c .WW II.  Extra large 'A' level brooch with Hand Painted enamel leaves, Yellow and Red flat beads, Green glass beads, and gilt metal Daisies mounted on the curved solid gilt metal back.

This favored design was part of several lines using different colored beads. Additional pieces to this line can be seen in the book, Miriam Haskell Jewelry, by Cathy Gordon and Sheila Pamfiloff, pg. 132.

MIRIAM HASKELL NECKLACE, Late 1940s. Frank Hess design, from the Transition Period, where the adjustable hook and tail became one of the new closures. Lovely large Deep Green beads, with lovely large open work bead caps, and detailed bead gathers. One side gather has  leaves made with Rose Montee's and Clear rhinestones. The other side has a large Red flat bead, Clear and Peridot rhinestones on gilt filigrees. There is a decorated hook of Rose Montees and beads.

This necklace can be seen in the book, Miriam Haskell Jewelry, by Cathy Gordon and Sheila Pamfiloff, pg. 171.

Note: Signed with a glued on oval plaque, Miriam Haskell. This should be an unsigned necklace. Someone, perhaps feeling insecure, glued one on.

NECKLACE, c.1931-1932. Machine age design in Galalith and chrome, a distinctive Bengel Design. Large dark blue square mounted to a round chrome disc. The chain has round chrome beds and textured long chrome beads, with 2 brown ridged Galalith beads. Spring ring closure.

Chain and colors of  Galalith can be seen in the book, "ART DECO SCHMUCK", by Christianne Weber. And,  Ref. Vintage Fashion and Costume Jewelry Magazine, Vol. 14, No. 4, 2004, pg. 6-11. 

As with all Bengel, this piece is not marked.

NECKLACE, c.1931-1932. Machine age design in Galalith and chrome, a distinctive Bengel Design. Wonderful step ladder design, in Rich Yellow, Mottled Light Green, and Dark Green Beads.

Stepladder designs, chains, and galalith colors can be seen through out the book, "ART DECO SCHMUCK", by Christianne Weber. And,  Ref. Vintage Fashion and Costume Jewelry Magazine, Vol. 14, No. 4, 2004, pg. 6-11.

BROOCH, c. 1960s. Clusters of Pink Glass beads Hand-knotted on nylon thread, invisible to the eye, all set in a Bouquet of Delicate Pink Glass Petals.

This style of invisible knotting brought overnight fame to Anni Schaad and brought her to the forefront of top European designers in the 1960s. Necklace using this knotting process is Pictured in Cera's 'Jewels of Fantasy' pg. 367, referenced in 'European Designer Jewelry' by Moro, pgs. 136-141.  Little black bead, sewn into the glass bead stem, is a signature style for Langani.

Marked xxand Barclay, Sterling on applied ovals. Some McClelland Barclay stamps were cut to fit the jewelry, removing the McClell.

NECKLACE. Oversized resin beads in simulated Amethysts Quartz with faceted Amethysts glass crystals and black and Amethyst faceted glass crystal discs. Donatella took the reins of the company in 1972, and continued the collaborations with the World's top Fashion Designers such as Valentino, Versace, Armani, Lacroix, and Fendi. Her use of Elaborate Beads and Resin Embellishments established her Artistic Works at the highest levels of the Fashion World.

BROOCH, c. 1930s. A bouquet of Aqua Flowers and tiny Red Flower Buds. Ribbons of pave' rhinestones weave in and out of the design. Aqua and Red rhinestones make up the bouquet. The Rippling Fan flower holder is in Rose Gold.

Note: The metal is plated with  Rhodium and Rose Gold, dating this brooch to the 1930s. The prongs on the stones are tips as used in fine jewelry. The look of real.

Marked 'Pennino.
Measures 2-1/2" x 2".
Very Good Condition, with the Rhodium almost new. There is a tiny bit of gold loss at turning edges of the holder.

STERLING BROOCH, c. 1940s. Emerald cut Red crystal rhinestones fold up embracing the small clear rhinestones. Rows of Clear rhinestones in the background add dimension to this design. Ribbons of gold loop in and out of the bouquet.

Note: There is an innovative setting for the Red rhinestones in the design. The stones are laid on a Sterling strip. At the base of the strip, prongs hold one end of the stone. At the other end of the stone, the strip folds over and secures the stone.

Marked Pennino Sterling. The sterling has a gold wash.
