BROOCH, c.late 1950s early 1960s. This brooch has glass Amethysts, Sapphires, and Clear rhinestones with a center opaque Lavender colored stone. 

Famous Paris designer from the late 1950s through the 1970s. She created jewelry for famed couturiers such as Jacques Heim, Patou, and Lavin. Her early jewelry is very feminine using faux Amethyst, Pearls, and Turquoise.

An example of her work, from 1959 can be seen in "European Designer Jewelry", pg. 79, by Ginger Moro.

Marked on the back, Modelle, Maryse Blanchard, Paris, on an applied Oval.

BROOCH, c .late 1950s early 1960s. Inventive use of Ribbed round metal tabs acting as prong set rhinestones, accented with Red and Clear faceted rhinestones in an irregular Round shaped design. Substantial.

Famous Paris designer from the late 1950s through the 1970s. She created jewelry for famed couturiers such as Jacques Heim, Patou, and Lavin.

An example of her work, from 1959 can be seen in "European Designer Jewelry", pg. 79, by Ginger Moro.

Marked on the back, Modele, Maryse Blanchard, Paris, on an applied Oval.

BROOCH, c. 1940, CYCLAMEN. Rhythmic design in graduated colored enamels, moving from Hot Pink to iridescent Gold. Petals gracefully turn to reveal Clear pave' rhinestones on the ends of the Flower Petals. Set in rhodium finish metal.

CASCIO

BROOCH,  Large Dragon Fly with a long wing span, detailed body, articulated tail. The body is made with an oval Blue cabochon, antennae are highlighted with ruby stones, and the clusters of pave' stones give it dramatic sparkle. Lovely weight and movement.

Prominent Italian fashion jewelry house who's lines accessorized famed designers such as Pucci, Capucci, Maerucelli, and were in the best department stores such as Bonwith Teller, and Bloomingdales in the US. Started in 1948 by Gaetano Cascio. In business for over 40 years.  Later his son Riccardo Cascio franchised to boutiques in Italy.

BROOCH, c.1950s, Countess Zoltowska , nicknamed Cis. Known for hand-painted stones and natural stones, set in crown settings. Although Hungarian born, she married a Polish Count and traveled to Paris where she established herself among the haute couture designers of her day. Hand construction, 24k plating over white metal.

This piece is "unsigned", as was most of Cis' work, and is identified by stones, settings, and construction. These exact stones in a very similar setting can be seen in Ginger Moro's book, "European Designer Jewelry", page 71.

CHARLIE McCARTHY FUR CLIP, c. 1937. A bit of History to wear. Marvelous enamel Fur Clip depicting the famous TV, Film, and Movie ventriloquist Act of Edgar Bergen and his puppet Charlie McCarthy. The little tab on the bottom moves the mouth. I dare not do it.

Commissioned by Coro (Cohn & Rosenberger).
In a press clipping,  from WWD, Oct. 29, 1937, "My Diminutive Little Chum"  Enters Jewelry". Stamped on the back, "Mf' d under exclusive license from Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy Inc.

LARGE BIB NECKLACE, A Stunner. Long Faux Jade bead strands with Encased Glass Venetian beads. Encased in the center of each Venetian bead are clusters of Light Green glass and Pink Rosettes with Gold foil bits in crystal clear glass. Clear rhinestone rondells highlight each end of the Venetian beads, with a faux pearl and faux jade loop terminus; prong set clear rhinestones accent the gold tone chain. There are 45 dangles total.

ELFE

NECKLACE. Large ribbed Silver Tone metal beads, alternating with Large Gold Tone metal beads. Chic and Timeless.

Famed Italian design house. Emilo Fideli, and Ceasari di Roma, created jewelry for Epic Hollywood films in the 1950s. Fideli opened the Bijoux Elfe showroom at the Ponte Vecchio in 1963, displaying high fashion jewelry along side the traditional Goldsmith shops. Pucci collaborated with  Bejoux Elfe, Coppola  e Toppo, and others to accessorize his fashion creation.

Robert Clark bent and shaped stampings to create height and depth. Bead strands are light and dark Amber faceted crystals.

MIRIAM HASKELL WRAP BRACELET, c.1930s. An Early Frank Hess Design of Pale Pink Beads sewn onto a Silk Mesh Cord. The Pink Beads in centerpiece are Flower shaped and are wired onto a lovely Goldwashed flower metal form. Clear Rhinestone accents around. Unsigned.

A Variation is in Harrice Miller's Book, Costume Jewerly, Second addition, pg.127. Purchased from Haskell Head Designer M. Petronzio.

MIRIAM HASKELL BRACELET and DRESS CLIP, c.1940. An early Unsigned Frank Hess design. Black Silk wrapped cord bracelet and coiled cord dress clip with carved green wood beads, large Tear shaped Wood beads and little Star shaped Wood beads in Green, Red, Blue, Yellow, and Brown.

Similar coiled pieces can be see in the Water Color Section of "Miriam Haskell Jewelry", pg. 104 and 105, as well as similar wood pieces on page 144 and 145. The bracelet has the button closure. Dress Clip has the WWII perforated plastic back. Clearly from the same line with very slight variation in size and color of the wood beads on the bracelet and clip.

Unsigned.
Bracelet measures 7-1/2" x 2-1/2". Dress clip 3-1/8" x 2".

BROOCH, c.1960-1963. After Frank Hess retired from the Miriam Haskell company he joined forces with Josef Morton Glasser, Miriam Haskells nephew, and formed the Morton-Hess company.

Although  this piece is signed Josef Morton, the leaf stampings can be found on many old Haskells.

After Frank Hess retired from the Miriam Haskell company he joined forces with Josef Morton Glasser and formed the Morton Hess company. He left the company in 1963 and went to work for Kramer and formed a line called Amourelle.
