JAKOB BENGEL
NECKLACE, c.1931-1932. Machine age design in Galalith and chrome, a distinctive Bengel Design. Large dark blue square mounted to a round chrome disc. The chain has round chrome beds and textured long chrome beads, with 2 brown ridged Galalith beads. Spring ring closure.

Chain and colors of  Galalith can be seen in the book, "ART DECO SCHMUCK", by Christianne Weber. And,  Ref. Vintage Fashion and Costume Jewelry Magazine, Vol. 14, No. 4, 2004, pg. 6-11. 

As with all Bengel, this piece is not marked.
Measures 17" with the large disc measuring 1-3/4".

NECKLACE, c.1931-1932. Machine age design in Galalith and chrome, a distinctive Bengel Design. Wonderful step ladder design, in Rich Yellow, Mottled Light Green, and Dark Green Beads.

Stepladder designs, chains, and galalith colors can be seen through out the book, "ART DECO SCHMUCK", by Christianne Weber. And,  Ref. Vintage Fashion and Costume Jewelry Magazine, Vol. 14, No. 4, 2004, pg. 6-11.

As with all Bengel, this piece is not marked.

BROOCH, c. 1940, CYCLAMEN. Rhythmic design in graduated colored enamels, moving from Hot Pink to iridescent Gold. Petals gracefully turn to reveal Clear pave' rhinestones on the ends of the Flower Petals. Set in rhodium finish metal.

BROOCH and EARRINGS, Reminiscent of the Royal Jewels of India. The brooch has a very high Oval shaped synthetic Jade stone set in a crown setting. Surrounding the stone are rings  of Gem Stone colored rhinestones in ruby Red and Clear, set in a shinny gold tone setting.

NECKLACE.  Dramatic design in simulated Opals and Citrine rhinestones. The large round cabochons have deep radiating heat. Opalescent beads are faceted. There is a hint of pale blue to the stones and beads.

NECKLACE, 1950s. Triple strands of Ruby Red faceted beads in two shades of red. Segments of beads are interspersed with large Tube Beads made by weaving small faceted beads together in the a cylinder shape; these tube beads may be moved into new positions as desired.

May be worn in a variety of configurations.

Measures 15-1/2" from end loop to tail loop; 3" wide in the front and 1-1/2" to 2" thick. Due to the thickness, it will wear high on the neck.

Sapphire colored rhinestone eyes, red rhinestone cheeks, with a clear lucite body; dotted with clear embedded rhinestones. The fins have linear tracings of clear rhinestone, all set in a gold wash over sterling setting.

CORO DUETTE LOVE BIRDS IN A TREE FUR CLIPS DUETTE, c.1930s.  Lovely hand painted enamel birds facing each other on a branch. The enamel colors are Pale Blue, Dark Blue, Yellow Green, White, Black, and Dark Orange with clear pave' rhinestones accents.

Marked Coro on the inside seam of the boy's trousers only.

CHARLIE McCARTHY FUR CLIP, c. 1937. A bit of History to wear. Marvelous enamel Fur Clip depicting the famous TV, Film, and Movie ventriloquist Act of Edgar Bergen and his puppet Charlie McCarthy. The little tab on the bottom moves the mouth. I dare not do it.

Commissioned by Coro (Cohn & Rosenberger).
In a press clipping,  from WWD, Oct. 29, 1937, "My Diminutive Little Chum"  Enters Jewelry". Stamped on the back, "Mf' d under exclusive license from Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy Inc. 

The full story can be seen in the book "A Tribute to American", costume Jewelry 1935-1950,  by Carla Ginelli Brunialti and Roberto Brunialti, pg. 66.

LARGE BIB NECKLACE, A Stunner. Long Faux Jade bead strands with Encased Glass Venetian beads. Encased in the center of each Venetian bead are clusters of Light Green glass and Pink Rosettes with Gold foil bits in crystal clear glass. Clear rhinestone rondells highlight each end of the Venetian beads, with a faux pearl and faux jade loop terminus; prong set clear rhinestones accent the gold tone chain. There are 45 dangles total.

BROOCH, c.1930-1940s. A Classic Eisenberg Original Bow design in Sterling Vermeil. The Large Bow features a Substantial Green Cabochon and is highlighted with Faux Turquoise Cabochons. It has wonderful depth, and the nice weight associated with Vintage Eisenberg.

BRACELET, c.2008. Wendy Gell's Arm Candy, The Wristy. From the mid-1970s Wendy has been creating these wonderful objects de Art. She says about her work, "I paint with jewels". Her jewelry has been  worn by many Hollywood Celebrities, featured in numbers of magazines and movies since her creative beginnings. Her process is, apoxying beads, rhinestones, stones, and found objects on a cut brass bracelet shape, each one as individual as she is.

Will fit up to a 6-1/2 wrist.
Front measures 2-1/2" in width. Back ends 1-3/4" and 2".

MIRIAM HASKELL MEMORY WIRE BRACELET, c.1940s, unsigned.  Lovely  gemstone colored beaded bracelet with clear pave'  rhinestones on silver tone leaves.  Beads are Red, Blue, and Green with a Luscious center motif.

Similar bracelets can be seen  be see on pgs. 153 and 157 in the book "Miriam Haskell Jewelry", by Cathy Gordon and Sheila Pamfiloff.

Mofif measures 2-3/4" x 1-3/4". Width of the beaded band is  approx. 3/4".

MIRIAM HASKELL BRACELET, c.1960s, Robert Clark design. Lovely Lilac colored beads in light and dark shades. The center motif has a glass cup that holds an oversized Clear rhinestone. The glass cup consists of a clear base with a neon-blue lip. The outer ring has, very rare for Haskell, Aurora Borealis Rose Montee's laced onto a cupped gilt filigree, creating a deep recess for the glass cup.

Robert Clark bent and shaped stampings to create height and depth. Bead strands are light and dark Amber faceted crystals.

Marked with oval cartouche back of box clasp.
Measures 7-1/2" with the central design measuring 1-1/8" wide 7/8" high.

MIRIAM HASKELL BRACELET and DRESS CLIP, c.1940. An early Unsigned Frank Hess design. Black Silk wrapped cord bracelet and coiled cord dress clip with carved green wood beads, large Tear shaped Wood beads and little Star shaped Wood beads in Green, Red, Blue, Yellow, and Brown.

Similar coiled pieces can be see in the Water Color Section of "Miriam Haskell Jewelry", pg. 104 and 105, as well as similar wood pieces on page 144 and 145. The bracelet has the button closure. Dress Clip has the WWII perforated plastic back. Clearly from the same line with very slight variation in size and color of the wood beads on the bracelet and clip.

MIRIAM HASKELL BROOCH, c .WW II.  Extra large 'A' level brooch with Hand Painted enamel leaves, Yellow and Red flat beads, Green glass beads, and gilt metal Daisies mounted on the curved solid gilt metal back.

This favored design was part of several lines using different colored beads. Additional pieces to this line can be seen in the book, Miriam Haskell Jewelry, by Cathy Gordon and Sheila Pamfiloff, pg. 132.

Marked with the appled oval on the back of the centerpiece and on the decorated hook. Bracelet marked with the oval cartouche imprinted on the back of the box clasp closure.

Early unsigned box clasp




MIRIAM HASKELL NECKLACE, Late 1940s. Frank Hess design, from the Transition Period, where the adjustable hook and tail became one of the new closures. Lovely large Deep Green beads, with lovely large open work bead caps, and detailed bead gathers. One side gather has  leaves made with Rose Montee's and Clear rhinestones. The other side has a large Red flat bead, Clear and Peridot rhinestones on gilt filigrees. There is a decorated hook of Rose Montees and beads.

This necklace can be seen in the book, Miriam Haskell Jewelry, by Cathy Gordon and Sheila Pamfiloff, pg. 171.

Note: Signed with a glued on oval plaque, Miriam Haskell. This should be an unsigned necklace. Someone, perhaps feeling insecure, glued one on.
Measures 16-3/4". Largest Green bead is 3/4".

MIRIAM HASKELL NECKLACE, Early 1940s. Unsigned Frank Hess design.  Aqua beads and clear pave rhinestones. The back has the WW II  perforated plastic back. No clasp. Necklace pulls over the head.

Similar designs can be seen in the book "Miriam Haskell Jewelry", by Cathy Gordon and Sheila Pamfiloff, pg. 153. The necklace has been restrung for security by Millie Petronzio, Head designer for Haskell.

MIRIAM HASKELL NECKLACE, Early 1950s, Frank Hess design. Garnet colored beads and rhinestones make up this Delicate Flower design, reminiscent of Antique Bohemian Garnet jewelry. The Red rhinestones are swedged onto gilt flat metal stampings on the back.

Unsigned married clipback earrings are not Haskell, but a very good marriage.

Marked on the hook, Miriam Haskell,  and has the hang tag with the reversed signature on the back side.
Measures 15-1/2" from end tail to hook. Front motif is 1-1/2" long.

HOBÉ STERLING BRACELET, c.1930s-1940s. Roses in Woven Baskets. Sterling and Gold over Sterling. Hand Made with great detail. The baskets are Sterling wire and the Roses have a gold overlay.

Marked Hobe',1/20th 14K on Sterling, Design Pat', stamped into the clasp back.

Measures 7-1/8" x 7/8".
Very Good Condition with a rich patina.
